The platform supporting our Hosted Voice Service is changing

*Action must be taken on your part to avoid service interruption.

In addition, these changes will have a direct impact on the way you use this service.

This dedicated webpage will provide step by step instructions as well as additional information on what you can expect with this change.

Below are the resources you will need to update your equipment

Communicator Desktop Client

If you haven't already installed the new desktop client, follow the instructions below:

  1. From the Menu, select Help
  2. Click on Check for Updates
  3. When you receive the 'New version available' box, click Install
  4. You will then choose Yes to indicate you are sure to move forward
  5. Once the install is complete, an Accession Communicator icon will load to your desktop.
  6. Double-click the icon and choose Log in Manually
  7. Use the drop-down arrow to select Windstream as your service provider
  8. Once installation is complete, a login screen will appear. Enter your Phone and Password and click Log in and follow the remaining prompts to finish the login process.

    Once installation is complete, the previous Mobile Communicator must be uninstalled by following the steps below:
  9. From the Start menu on your computer, go to Control Panel and select Uninstall a program under the Programs section.
  10. Find the program called Mobile Communicator. Click on Mobile Communicator and select Uninstall or right click on Mobile Communicator and select Uninstall.

If you are an EarthLink Meeting Room user, you will also need to uninstall the EarthLink Meeting Room client:

  1. Repeat Step 9 above and select EarthLink Meeting Room and select Uninstall or right click on EarthLink Meeting Room and select Uninstall.

Mobile Client

  1. Navigate to the Google Store or iOS App Store and search for Accession Communicator and select Get.
  2. Once installed, click Open and click Log in or navigate to the Accession Communicator App on your mobile device and click Log in.
  3. On the Find your Login details page click Log in Manually.
  4. Under Choose Carrier screen, search for or scroll down and select Windstream.
  5. Select Accept & Continue
  6. From the Login screen, enter your Phone number and Password and click Log in. Follow remaining prompts to finish login process.

Once you have successfully completed install and have logged into your new Accession Communicator, you will need to uninstall your Mobile Communicator mobile client.

  1. Find the Mobile Communicator icon on your mobile device and touch and hold the icon then select the option to uninstall the application.

Microsoft Outlook Plugin

If you currently have the EarthLink Meeting Outlook Plugin installed, you will need to uninstall the plugin following the steps immediately below. If you have not previously had the Earthlink Meeting Outlook Plugin, skip to Step 4 below. Accession Outlook Plugin install.

  1. On your desktop, go to Add or Remove Programs
  2. Search for EarthLink Meeting Outlook Plugin:
  3. Highlight the program and click Uninstall or right click and select Uninstall
  4. To install new Accession Microsoft Outlook Plugin, click the following link - Download
  5. Under Meeting Plugin for Microsoft Outlook, click Download

What changes can I expect, who is affected and when do the changes take effect?

  • Online Portal Access (All Administrators and Users)
    • After January 31, 2020, the previous portal link will no longer be active.
  • Desktop and Mobile Client for those using Meeting Room (Platinum Seats)
    • As of February 21, 2020, you must be migrated to the new platform to avoid service interruptions.
  • Desktop Client (Premium and Remote Worker Seats)
    • Please complete client updates by May 31, 2020.
  • Mobile Client (Premium and Remote Worker Seats)
    • Please complete client updates by May 31, 2020.

Will this change affect placing and receiving calls from my computer?

Yes. Therefore, it is crucial for user to update their desktop client.


Will this change affect placing and receiving calls from my mobile device?

Yes. Therefore, it is crucial for user to update their mobile clients.


Will this change affect placing and receiving calls from my desk phone?

No. There is no impact.


Will I be able to keep my contact list in the new client?

Yes. Contacts in the previous client will be mapped to the new client.


How do I access the new Online Portal?

Administrators will access the online portal at https://windstreamvoip.com/bg. All other users will access at https://windstreamvoip.com. Please be sure to bookmark this new URL.

Beginning January 7, 2020, https://voip.elnk.us will automatically redirect to the new portal until January 31, 2020. After that date, the old portal URL will no longer be accessible.


Will my login credentials change?

No. Your login credentials will not change. However, you will need to know your login and password to install the new client. If you have forgotten your password, please contact your local administrator. If you continue experiencing issues, please contact us at 877.737.5249.


What can I do to avoid a service interruption?

  • Uninstall the previous client and install the new client on your desktop and mobile device
  • Reschedule all recurring meetings (Platinum Seat Users Only)

Will anything change for Platinum seat users?

Platinum seat users will still have access to the meeting features they are accustomed to today with a modernized user interface. Please note, all existing, recurring meetings must be rescheduled.
