Olé Mexican Foods Reveals “Secret Sauce” in New Recipe for Success

The amazing tortilla and its culinary kin—chips, salsa, cheeses and dips—went mainstream long ago; these staples of Mexican cuisine have become part of our American diet. Back in 1992, the New York Times announced that salsa had already replaced ketchup as the dominant condiment and today, 40% of consumers buy tortilla products weekly.1

Olé Mexican Foods can claim bragging rights as an industry pioneer, opening their doors in Georgia in 1988 as a small supplier of homemade tortillas. Today, they are one of the nation’s largest tortilla makers and a nationwide distributor of tortillas and complementary products. It’s no secret that technology is changing faster than even the fleetest organization can keep up. At the same time, it’s easy to say that anything considered ‘old’ needs to be cast into the obsolescence trash heap and replaced with the ‘latest and greatest’ even if the current technology continues to meet most of the needs of the business. A similar choice of ‘replace or remodel’ faced Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC), a multistate architecture and engineering firm with offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
